Our turnaround

We can't tell you for sure how long it should take for a 30-minute or 1-hour audio file transcription. There are a lot of things to consider and the nature of the recorded file really determines it. Our suggestion is, please send us the sample file and let us estimate it for you. We once managed to complete a 45-minute audio file (with 5 different speakers within) in 2 days. Please note that it was a transcription process only.

Delivery format

As we are sure that clients will know their most convenient and suitable format, we leave the case to them. Normally, they sent us a table in Ms. Word, with the characters A, B, C, etc. Any format suggested is possible and again, we leave the case to our clients.

Language we transcribe

We have done a lot of transcription, from English to English, English to Indonesian, Indonesian to Indonesian and Indonesian to English, thus we fully know the level of difficulty we encounter and which one should take more time to transcribe. As we commit to a customized and specialized translation service, we then decide to provide Indonesian to Indonesian transcription service only. We can provide you with English transcription, but our position here is to check, not to transcribe. It is our nature that we have to transcribe our own native language.

Rates

Some transcription service provider companies may charge you hourly or on package basis, but we do not do that as we really care about your business. We always charge our client per minute audio file without having to charge them a minimum charge. We can do, even, 1-minute transcription for you. • Transcription only

We can provide you with transcription service only without having us translate it into the desired language. The cost will be based on the transcribed audio file.

•  Transcription and translation

We can provide you with transcription and translation. The cost will be based on the minutes transcribed for the transcription and based on the number of words after transcription for the translation. Say, the transcribed file converts into 2,500 written words, then the translation cost will be 2,500 words X US$ (our standard rate for translation). • Translation through transcription

This plan is quite rare, but we sometimes provide this service. We can translate from an audio file into the desired language. So far, we do from Indonesian to English. The audio file was in Indonesian and we were asked to directly translate it into English. As this is not full-transcription service, rather than translation from an audio file, you will only get the translation script, not transcription script. The cost will be a bit higher than our normal translation service rate. Again, contact us for any questions. It is all free.

Quality assurance

We are sure that successful transcription would need a very good listener and typist. Literally, all the native speakers can do that. To us, this has to be done by a professional with the language background or at least the one that mainly works in language industry. The reason is simple, transcribing would really need an accuracy of putting correct punctuation and capitalization and other language accessories into the transcribed file. The transcriber has to know where and when to put full-stop, comma, and so on.

In addition, we hire a professional transcriber to provide this transcription service. We involve freelance professional transcriber and our in-house transcriber. The process will take 2 phases; 1) transcribed by freelance professional and 2) checked by our in-house transcriber. Through this procedure, we expect to have flawless transcription service.
